GreenGate Chicago, a Rogers Park medical marijuana dispensary, which provides people who are diagnosed with debilitating medical conditions to access marijuana for medical use, will be hosting an informational meeting on the Illinois Medical Cannabis Pilot Program and the Opioid Alternative Cannabis Program

Charmers Cafe, 1500 W. Jarvis (at Greenview).
Under Illinois law, persons who are diagnosed with certain debilitating medical conditions may obtain access to marijuana for medical use. The qualifying patient must obtain a written certification from a physician specifying their debilitating condition and register with the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). Debilitating conditions include Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, Crohn’s disease, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy and rheumatoid arthritis.
The law recently was expanded to allow a treating physician to qualify a patient to receive medical marijuana for conditions where an opioid might otherwise be prescribed. Patients now can use medical cannabis to treat their condition instead of an opioid.
Representatives from GreenGate will be on hand to answer your questions about both programs and to sign you up for a medical cannabis card if you are eligible.
GreenGate Chicago is located at 7305 N. Rogers (the intersection of Chase, Damen and Rogers).
Ald. Moore is proud to have paved the way for the dispensary two years ago. GreenGate has been up and running since May providing Rogers Park residents with much-needed relief for their medical conditions.
