Howard Street Makers Studio Presents: A Family that Cooks Together with Barrett Keithley
Enjoy a Family Sunday where you can createno-bake granola bars and sushi sandwiches.
Xpression creates a unique experience for the community that allows them to creatively express themselves. Xpressions allows the audience and artist to exclusively connect with a singular commonality, their need to Xpress themselves. The need to Xpress emotions, thoughts, feelings, mind, body and spirit through art.
Barrett Keithley is a multi-disciplined artist. He creates works of art that speak to the story of his upbringing on Chicago’s south side known as the “Wild Hundreds.” He is a large-scale muralist and is currently working on his non-profit “Paint the City” alongside co-founder Missy Perkins to bring local Black & brown artists and local businesses together to heal the city through art.
Howard Street Makers Studio provides a safe space for creativity and healing.
Everyone is welcome to join during open studios where participants will explore different types of art mediums. Artists in residence will facilitate classes, community art workshops, spoken word/open mic, sip and paint, discussions and open art studio time with and for the community.
The space will offer participants access to supplies and guidance to make artwork or participate in yoga and other movement workshops.
